3D one-on-one fighting game (Godot C# or Unreal C++ or any other Game engine)

Make a 3D one-on-one fighting game demo in either the Godot 4 engine (with C#) or Unreal Engine 5 (with C++) or another game engine that you can find, with a group.
This can be a desktop app or a web app or even an AR app.

Given the course is only 3 months, the scope of the project is more limited than a full game.

3-4 team members in the group.

You are expected to learn various technologies on your own and implement a playable game with the basic goals complete (see below for list) by the end of the term.

Credit: This project idea is a modified version of a student's idea from Spring 2025.

Objectives


Basic goals:

  • at least two simple fighting stages
  • two characters (probably very similar characters comparable to Ken and Ryu in the early street fighters for those familiar) with basic character models.
  • two players fighting offline 

Stretch goals:

  • two players fighting online 
  • AI player with adjustable difficulty level
  • implement rollback-netcode
