AI Coder
In this unique research and development project, you are going to make the maximum possible use of AI tools to help you create your project. You are going to hopefully discover new tools and new ways to be a coding ninja, and you are going to document your journey for posterity.
You will choose and build ANY of the app or website projects where “William Pfeil” is the Sponsor (see the rest of the Project Portal). For instance, you could choose one of the following projects:
- Cross Platform Personal Trainer
- Dating app for animal adoption
- Mobile Treasure Hunt
- Job Tracker
- Software Programming Quiz
Use Github copilot, chatgpt, Bard, Bing, gpt3/4/5, Apple??, and whatever else you can find. Use them alone or in combination. Use them for everything: Project planning, scaffolding, coding, debugging, TDD, documentation, build scripts, docker implementations, database creation, server implementation, content creation, and anything else you can think of! You are only limited by your creativity and/or the limitations of these tools.
Main Goal: You will document and share your journey, remembering all of the “aha” moments and setbacks. We want to learn the best ways to use these tools!
Note for CS467 Students: You will need to follow instructions relevant to “All Other Projects” instead of “Research projects".
Objectives
All project objectives and stretch goals will come from the project that you picked.
However, the REAL deliverable of this project is not the project itself, but rather your documented research. What are the possibilities here?? What are some optimal techniques for working with these AI tools?
Your assignments will be the same as everyone else, but your blogs, progress videos, and reports will all focus on your work with these AI tools. We want to know the full uses, limitations, and pitfalls. Your final report will document various methods and guidelines for using the various tools.
