Soundbendor Lab Website

Design a new website for the Soundbendor lab. Site will use interactive and modular  bootstrap-like widgets.  Database will store lists of students, projects, publications, etc.  Website will support playing embedded media (video, audio). 

Objectives

  1. Design a website for the Soundbendor lab
    • display student names, pictures, and associated project
    • display list of publications with citations generated from bibtex format
    • searchable display of past lab publications, presentations, and tools
    • embed audio and video from YouTube
    • maintain list of URLs of recent news or other events
  2. Design and connect to a cloud-hosted database
  3. Incrementally improve layout and CSS components
  4. Deploy finished website. 

Motivations

The current Soundbendor website was built with a website generation tool and is not flexible nor modular enough for the needs of our research lab. We desire a custom and interactive website built for our tasks. We desire an interactive site built with bootstrap or similar libraries to enable responsiveness and the delivery of multimedia content. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • CS 290 (web dev)
  • CS 340 (database)
  • experience with JavaScript framework (any)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • prior web development experience
  • experience with bootstrap or similar library
  • CS 493 (cloud dev)
