Entrepreneurship Competition

Many of us dream of making something that is marketable and others will pay for. Taking a product to market begins with a good idea and requires early market research. This research informs the product development so that in the end we know some will buy the product at the price we sell it for. For this competition, up to 4-6 groups of students will compete to produce the best marketable product for the 2023-24 school year. These 4 groups will be reviewed by industry judges. The winner receives fabulous accolades and their project will go on display in the School of EECS main office. For this project, do not bid on it. Instead, you and a team of two other students must send one email to your course instructor with your project idea before 10/4. If your project idea is accepted, your instructor will make a project in the system for you and and assign your team.

Objectives

What your team's product does is up to your imagination but at minimum you must demonstrate:

  • A minimum viable product
  • Market research and how it informed your product development (recommended to attend the Iterate program sponsored by OSU)
  • A plan after the minimum viable product to expand into production

Motivations

This is a competition set.  Competition sets allow for teams to explore an ECE topic area while still fitting into the ECE capstone design sequence.
