RoboRacer - Garmin AT

RoboRacer is an autonomous robot designed to help track athletes improve their performance. It can race around the track with either predetermined or custom speed and acceleration profiles. This functionality enables athletes to simulate a variety of race conditions, from high-intensity sprints to steady-paced endurance events.  By providing a consistent and adaptable racing partner, it aims to elevate the quality of training sessions, helping athletes better prepare for real-world race scenarios and develop effective pacing strategies.

Objectives

1. Develop an Autonomous Navigation System: Enable the robot to accurately follow the lines on a track, ensuring it stays within the lanes, and react to a starting gun.
2. Implement Dynamic Speed and Acceleration Control: Provide both preset and customizable speed and acceleration profiles to simulate different race/training conditions.
3. Integrate Obstacle Avoidance: Equip the robot with the capability to detect and navigate around obstacles, ensuring safety during training sessions.
4. Create a User-Friendly Interface: Develop a mobile app to allow athletes and coaches to easily configure the robot's settings and view real-time analytics.
5. Provide Real-Time Performance Analytics: Use sensor data to offer immediate feedback on athlete performance, aiding in strategy formulation and training adjustments.
