Optimizing research software codes
We have developed a software package that read GPS observation files and determine the precise position of the receiver. There is a subset of the codes written in Python, RINEX2DB, to read the input files, do several calculations, and read in CSV file, but it takes too much time. The previous developer only suggested, add more CPU, but there must be a way to optimize the codes to reduce the computational load. We are looking for CS experts who can make the codes efficient.

Objective: to reduce the computation time of RINEX2DB. Deliverables include 1) updated RINEX2DB 2) related documentation
Motivations
This code optimization will greatly improve the research performance of my research team because this ineffective package is being used for multiple research software packages.
