Objectives

Feel free to make minor changes to the featureset as long as crowd-sourced racing events are well-supported.

Login / Register as a User

• Can create a standard profile
• Only thing public will be username (not real name) and avatar or photo

Create or Edit Event

• Any user can create an event
• New race will be associated with the profile of the user that created it
• Must have unique name, date, time of race start, and a navigable map location (where to park)
• Description of race - describe the course, parking info, potluck afterwards, etc.
• Miles/kilometers/elevation
• Difficulty rating (subjective)
• Sponsors / prizes if any
• Can see list of volunteers
  • Can designate certain Volunteer as Starting Official, multiple volunteers as Finish Line Officials

Display Events

• List of all events
• Different sorting / filtering options
  • By date
  • Within n miles of current location (20, 50, 100, 300)
  • Show events with at least n current participants (10, 50, 100)
• Featured Events Page (make use of sorting/filtering)

Single Event

• Show all info for event including current number of participants
• Register as Participant for Event (Cancel Registration if already registered)
• Register as Volunteer for Event
• **Button to print off racing number with QR code that identifies participant
• **Notifications for event
• **Race chat (for this race only). Ask/answer questions.

Race Day

• Designated Starting Official Starts Race using app button (only they can see the button). The system keeps official time for the race.
• Designated Finish Line Official(s) scan QR codes of participants as they finish. System saves finish time for all.
• Racing stats are available for any participants that finish the race

**.Stretch goals (optional)

IMPORTANT: This project does not have a formal industry or faculty mentor and is student team managed and directed. If you choose this project for a one-term Capstone such as CS 467, make sure to manage the deliverables for that time frame. Alternatively, if you choose this project for a 3-term capstone (such as CS 461, 462, and 463) you will be expected to make the project more robust (and to determine how best to do this). The Instructor and TAs are available to answer any questions you may have about the project or provide resources, etc.
