Using Augmented Reality to Visualive Live Structural Testing
This project group will work with Professor Mike Bailey in Computer Science and Professor Chris Higgins in Civil Engineering. Professor Higgins runs live instrumented stress tests on various building materials from concrete to cross laminated timber (CLT). This project is to use augmented reality to observe those tests as they are taking place and project computer graphics stress patterns onto the view of the structure.
Objectives
The deliverable is a working program that they can use.
Motivations
It is frustrating for the Civil Engineers to have to wait to get graphical feedback until after the test has been completed.
