For my project, I measured how the temperature was affected by both the window open and fan. I decided to do this because me and my roommate were arguing about if we should just leave the window or buy a fan. I used this opportunity to measure a span of five hours and monitor the drops of the temperature depending on if the window is open or if the fan was on. What my graphs ended up showing me is that the window is more effective because the room stays cooler for longer. I like doing this project cause I got to apply it to something in my life and I also got to improve my skills using electricity and programming. It was a challenge for me to figure out how to code but my program ended up working without any issues besides the temperature value. In the end, by measuring the fluctuation in temperature for 5 hours, I feel confident in my code and conclusion. as a college student, it is important to prioritize what I spend my money on and I hope this conclusion can help other college students figure out if it’s really worth it to buy a fan.
