Junior Design Project. The project is an automated mini-sumo robot capable of finding an object in a circular area with a diameter of 77cm and pushing it out of bounds. The size of the robot is 10x10cm and the enclosure is made of 3D printing. The robot uses an Arduino platform, uses infrared sensors to detect boundaries, uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects, and has a custom PCB to make the whole thing work. The overall weight of the robot is 500g (Unified Sumo Robot Rules). Over 9 weeks we worked on all of these aspects to create a working sumo robot. In the competition, we won half of our matches! learning a lot from all of the other sumo robot groups. Throughout this project, we learned many things about how to design and build a project!
