Electronics Design for an Electric/Driverless Formula Racecar 2019-2020

PCB

We are working with Global Formula Racing (GFR) to design an Electric, Driverless Formula Student racecar for their next competition season. The partner project is a collaborative effort between two univerisities, OSU and DHBW Ravensburg in Germany. Our capstone team has assisted with the development and manufacturing process of several essential printed circuit boards that perform different safety or vehicle performance roles and communicate with each other via Controller Area Network (CAN). Our accomplishments include fulfilling stringent safety requirements of Formula Student competition rules, coordinating bill of materials and sponsors for PCB manufacturing and assembly, and producing documentation of our prototype hardware.
