Engineering students at Oregon State University have many choices to make and they need a way to plan this out visually. The university’s website has many resources, but it becomes complicated and time-consuming for a student to navigate through it on their own. Freshmen starting at the university often do not fully understand what degree and course options are available, where they might lead 5 years down the road, how much it will cost, and the many hidden requirements and details associated with them. In this project, we will develop an interactive “Choose your own adventure” app for freshman College of Engineering students to explore options at Oregon State University and learn about how they can accomplish their goals. The app will be interactive and have infographic updates as students make various selections regarding the major, courses, and whatnot. The app could show them things like tuition cost, lab requirements, a progress bar for degree completion, potential internship opportunities, milestones, job options, and so on.
