The Know it’s Off! project is an IoT wireless sensing system. Typical application for the system is for it to sense the on/off status of common household appliances. The sensors include: temperature, light, and accelerometer. Once the system has checked whether the appliance is on via light, heat, or movement, it relays this information to a webpage by a wifi connection. The goal of this year's project is to reduce the size and increase the number of sensors from last year's group. The way our group is meeting these goals is by adding an accelerometer sensor and by reducing the size of all components inside the system. This includes: battery size, wifi module, PCB design, implementation of each sensor and sleep cycles.
