High Fidelity Portable Oscilloscope(002-1) ECE342-W23

A digital oscilloscope is a very powerful electronic tool that can be used for countless tests and projects. The goal of this project is to make a budget friendly, and portable digital oscilloscope that can be used whenever a high-end oscilloscope could be used. A simple, but portable oscilloscope can be a very powerful tool for an electrical engineer who may not be able to afford an oscilloscope or who needs one on the go. The system will contain two separate channels, an LCD screen to display what is being measured through the input probes, and a fully functional user interface similar to other oscilloscopes. The inputs on the oscilloscope consist of incremental rotary encoders and SPST push buttons. The most important part of the system was choosing a microcontroller unit that could supply us with enough power and reach our target sampling rate, the Teensy 4.0 fit both of those categories to a tee. The main challenges of this project were achieving the sampling rate of 1Mhz. Additionally, the user input code was also quite challenging as the variables needed to change quickly.
