Electronic Pet Door - ECE342-W22

This is the electronic pet door project for Junior Design II (ECE 342) Winter 2022. The intended use of the project is to automate some functions of a pet door that make the lives of both humans and pets easier. The main features of the pet door include automatic opening/closing of the door using a motor and lock, an intuitive user interface that allows a user to set lock/unlock times and view their pet's in/out activity on an LCD screen, as well as a remote control for wirelessly locking/unlocking the door. The most notable accomplishment on the pet door is the implementation of a transmitter that the pet can wear on their collar so that the door automatically opens for them when they approach. One of the aspects for the project that could use improvement would be reducing the size of the collar transmitter and remote. We could use a smaller battery so that the enclosure and parts placed on the pet's collar won't be as cumbersome.
