Using Ocean Going Robots to Observe Wave Conditions

This project aims to create a system onboard on of OSU's ocean faring gliders, that has the ability to measure and record wave conditions. My involvement in this project has been in the data processing and visualization. Once raw measurements are translated to directional wave parameters, they can be displayed in a polar plot. Using Python I have been able to create accurate, high resolution visualizations of these directional spectra.
