Gen 2 Haldex Manual Control with FPGA

Haldex is an all wheel drive system found in many modern cars (2006+). My car contains the second generation of this system. The theory behind Haldex is that the power that is sent to the rear wheels of a given vehicle is controlled by the ECU, and usually depends on the slip of the front wheels. Therefore, many Haldex equipped cars are front wheel biased for the majority of driving conditions. That said, Haldex has the potential to send up to 50% of available power to the rear wheels. I am investigating how to place a device in between the ECU (electronic control module) and the Haldex controller itself, to basically "spoof" a wheel slip signal to cause a more even power distribution (goal is at least 30%). This device would also need to allow a pass through mode and have less than 1ms response time.
