Drowsiness Confirming Steering Wheel 2019-2020
A steering wheel that uses a Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT) to determine if the user is alert enough to be behind the wheel. The project incorporates both ECE and CS students to create a multidisciplinary project. The drowsiness confirming steering wheel consists of a steering with with sensors, led's, vibration motors, and a speaker attached that connect to our drowsiness detection software. The PVT uses multiple forms of stimuli to ensure the most accurate representation of whether or not the driver is alert enough to be behind the wheel.
