Three Axis SyderCam ECE342-Sp21

Team 19 developed a three axis SpyderCam designed to move a payload on 8.5 x 11 inch paper using three strings that connect to the payload and the corners of the equilateral triangle. The project's goal was to have a Spydercam move a payload on the paper based on either G code or joystick input. Team 19 designed a PCB board around the Arduino Leonardo to power the three stepper motors and the A4988 stepper motor drivers. Centering the paper in the middle of an equilateral triangle allowed all points of the paper to be reached by the head of the SpyderCam. Then by using trigonometry, vectors, micro stepping, and by moving the motors asynchronously, we created an Arduino code that would move the payload to its desired position. We then assembled everything using wood and 3D printed structures and began testing. After several tests, we began to get accurate movement from the tool head of the SpyderCam that satisfies our needs. The final product was three axis Spydercam that could draw anywhere on an 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper.
