DC Power Supply with Seven Segment Display 5-02 ECE 342-W23
By
Our DC Power Supply will provide two channels of voltage, each with a current under 1.5A. Each channel's voltage can be adjusted using either an analog potentiometer, or controlling it on the Arduino serial interface via SCPI protocol. Channel 1's voltage is then displayed onto the 4-digit TM1637 (right side), while Channel 2's voltage is displayed onto the seven segment display (left side). Some key parts to the success of this project was due to the voltage regulator, and our seven segment displays. Without these, our channels of voltage would be very unstable, and wouldn't be displayed to the user. One accomplishment was that we saw a decent explosion of capacitors, due to the fact that they had a 10V rating, which did not end well when we had an input of around 20V. Aside from this, we also faced challenges surrounded our second voltage regulator, which burned out from a short. This resulted in our group using a smaller seven segment display (TM1637) for our channel 1, which was the result from being prepared with backup plans in case something goes wrong.
