BLAMO - Mobile App for OSU Civil/Construction Engineering

Borehole Logging Application Made for Oregon (BLAMO) is a multi-functional form app, designed to make data logging easier for anyone filling out a bore hole log. From BLAMO, users can manage projects, create new forms, print PDF and CSV outputs, and email them using any email account. BLAMO was designed to simplify the process of filling out borehole logs, and provide an extra step of reliability by removing all of the issues that come along with paper logs. A paperless system provides an easy way for users to access, share, and create logs all at the tip of their fingers. BLAMO was a conjoined effort between the department of Civil Engineering and ECE/CS here at OSU. We were proposed an issue that civil engineers and geologists faced when filling out borehole logging forms. Paper can get damaged or lost, and handwriting can sometimes be illegible. Additionally, if a group of people wanted to do anything with that data (use it in GIS, a Database, etc) they would have to enter all of the data by hand. BLAMO makes electronic integration easy by providing a simple way for printing out data, that other electronic devices can easily read. Users must simply fill out a log, and they are immediately able to export the log as either a CSV for database consumption, or a PDF to store in an electronics record system.
