This is a Shopify-integrated custom web-app to streamline the roof rack design process for Orion Van Gear engineers and their customers. The project applies computer science skills to a real-world problem. Orion Van Gear was searching for a solution to mitigate the extensive communication required to design client van roof racks with pre-existing equipment. Key features of webapp: • Integrates with existing Shopify storefront • Users can select from popular designs or create a design from scratch • Users can specify multiple pre-existing roof appliances on their vans • Users can save their designs and return to them later • Equipment placement accurate to 0.125 inch precision • Automatically places crossbars and snaps equipment to nearby crossbars • Prevents users from placing equipment in specific locations due to roof rack limitations, or van roof rib limitations • Resizes design grid to accommodate different screen sizes • Adds components used in designs to the shopping cart • Orion Van Gear employees can add new products or configurations through the Shopify Admin Portal Key technologies: React, Remix, Shopify GraphQL Storefront API, Shopify Oxygen
