This project is a timer that can be set by the user and has an alarm that goes off when the timer hits zero. It has three brightness levels for the LCD as well as three tone frequencies that can be chosen for the alarm. The main processor for the timer is an Arduino uno. The Arduino is connected to a 16x2 LCD display, 0.5W speaker, basic single stage amplifier, and 6 tactile control buttons all of which are powered by a single 9V battery. All components are housed in a 3D printed case which has holes for the LCD and buttons along with printed labels showing the use of each button. The compact and self contained form of the timer makes it portable and easy to use. Despite its simplicity learning how to 3D print out this case was an exceptional challenge which had several stages and failures. Improvements could be made to give the timer more capabilities such as a stopwatch feature in the future.
