Optical feedback wearable

The project is a wearable back belt designed to improve the experience of students on campus. The wearable's aim is to provide heat and light to the wearer while reporting its state through optical feedback. These features allow campus life to be more safe and comfortable. The key technologies implemented are a temperature sensor that controls the operation of a heating pad which generates heat that warms up the wearer, and a light sensor that controls the operation of a safety light that allows the user to be visible at night. The lights sensor senses the light level, and in ambient light situations it turns on the safety light. Implementing the technologies in a wearable and supply them with power was the major challenge, but using a back belt made routing the wires easier and managable. An area of imporvement for the future would be using a sweatshirt instead of a back belt.
