Arduino Battle Bot Using Ultrasonic and Infrared Sensors ECE342-Sp20
By
Our project is a sumo robot, intended to move around a small ring without exiting, and push the other robot out first. The robot uses an Arduino platform, with infrared sensors to avoid exiting, and an ultrasonic sensor to identify the competing robot, and use that information to target and push the robot out. We also have a seven segment display decoding functionality, achieved using a breakout board. A main accomplishment was figuring out how to portably power multiple motors, sensors, and displays for maximum functionality. This was made more of a challenge due to the slow shipping and inventory concerns from Covid-19. In the future, we would like to add rechargeable batteries, as well as potentially upgrading the performance of our motors by using higher amperage motors
