As accessibility to online news sources increases so do the instances of confirmation bias and media echo-chambers. Advancements in search engine optimization technology coupled with popular media outlets intentionally biasing content for user satisfaction has exacerbated these issues. To alleviate media echo chambers and bias we created Purple News: a website that scrapes popular news sites and pairs politically polarized news articles of the same topic. Purple News gives users the ability to both visualize the bias in their news as well as view media coverage from every perspective
